Description An improved method for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones by one pot cyclocondensation of aldehyde, b-dicarbonyl compound and urea with significant enhancement in reaction rates using room temperature ionic liquid [bmim] BF4 immobilized Cu(acac)2 as recyclable catalytic system is described.
