Description |
Buckling loads and the corresponding buckled shapes for thin-walled beams of open sections are examined using finite element method. A tapered thin-walled bar finite element with seven degrees of freedom at each node is adopted. Examples are presented and comparisons are made with the results obtained by ANSYS and other investigators.
