Description The behaviour of aluminium and steel structural elements subjected to shock loads, particularly in the plastic range, has been the object of studies by several researchers. With this objective a series of experimental investigations were carried out. Empirical formulae for the dynamic flow stress of aluminium and steel, based on the experimental results, have been developed.
