Description A hysteretic model that includes strength and stiffness deterioration properties has been used in order to predict the number of cycles to failure, failure deflection, cyclic ductility and total energy absorption capacity in this paper. This model incorporates an energy based deterioration parameter that controls the cyclic deterioration modes: basic strength and post - capping strength deterioration. The last hysteresis curve is assumed as the failure cycle, from which the failure deflection is evaluated. The cyclic deterioration parameters have been predicted for an experimental cyclic data of laced reinforced concrete beams based on the hysteretic model. The predicted cyclic deterioration parameters were verified with the experimental results and found in good agreement.
