Description Details of anchor bolts including load transfer mechanism, failure behaviour, design procedure and arrangements are presented in detail. In order to validate the anchor bolt design and the performance of the prestressing technique, an experimental investigation is carried out on post tensioned end blocks with brackets which have been studied for design, cracking and ultimate load behaviour. Slope and slip of steel bracket are recorded at various stages during the experiment. Finite element simulation is carried out by simulating geometry, loading, material non-linearity and test condition. Linear and non-linear static analysis has been conducted for the specified loading and the responses have been compared. From the analysis, it is observed that computed slope and slip of the steel bracket are in good agreement with corresponding experimental results.
