Description The objectives of this stuy were to document mean flow features at high-lift on a mildly swept wing at low speeds using 2D PIV and anlyze the results from point of view of flow development and unsteady effects, in addition to obtaining broad idea of turbulence parameters. Earlier studies on a mildly swept wing at low speeds have assessed the broad features of hysteresis under high-lift conditions. The hysteresis effects were found to be sensitive to the flap position for each flap deflection. However detailed information on the topology of teh flow was not known and hence an effort was made to capture the flow-field using 2D PIV under static conditions for flap angles of 20 deg and 30 deg at incidences of 10 deg and 15 deg, these represent conditions just before and inside the hysterisis loop. The results show that the topology of the flow-field is dominated by the slot flow. The slot flow vector is seen to be determined by the gap and overlap of the configuration and not perpendicular to the minimum radios line joining teh wing trailing edge to the flap leading edge as previously believed.
