Description Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is an emerging field of technology, comprising of spatially distributed, autonomous tiny sensing devices named nodes. Presently, Wireless Sensor Networks are not only limited to military applications such as battlefield surveillance but are also used in many industrial and civilian application areas, including industrial process monitoring and control, machine health monitoring, environment and habitat monitoring, healthcare applications, home automation and traffic control. Nodes are deployed independently to cooperatively monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, vibration, pressure, motion or pollutants parameters. In order to provide an effective integrity, confidentiality, authentication during communication, the need of Security issues emerges in Wireless Sensor Network. In this paper, we review the security requirements, internal and external security threats and attacks possible, and mechanism used to overcome such security issues in Wireless Sensor Network. Also, we discuss about secured Key Management and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) used to provide secured Wireless Sensor Network.
