Description An effort has been made to understand the structure property correlation with different chain extender structure. For these, different moisture cured polyurethanes were synthesized and partially chain extended with various aromatic diamines. The remaining excess isocyanates in the polyurethane matrix were reacted with atmospheric moisture. Viscoelastic properties of these cured films were determined by Dynanaic Mechanical Thermal Analyzer (DMTA). The mechanical properties such as tensile strength, adhesion strength and hardness were related to chemical composition and cohesion of the hard segment. Angle resolved X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (ARXPS) was used to determine the surface properties. Thc combined analysis indicates the degree of phase separation 4 s the cause for the overall macroscopic properties and is dependent on the chain extender structure
