Description |
Graphitic carbons such as reactor graphite, natural graphite,
electrographite and baked carbon were evaluated for crystallinity by x-ray
diffraction. These carbons were then studied for their fri~tion and wear
characteristics on pin on disc machine. The worn surfaces were examined for the
textural and crystallinity changes on SEM. Test results have shown that crystallinity
affected the wear process significantly while its influence on fric~ion is small.
