Description |
The chemical homogeneity of the product of suspension com polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in presence of free
radical initiator was examined by analyzing it at intermediate stages. A copolymer product of uniform composition could be
obtained by maintaining proper monomer ratios in the reaction phase; the molecular weight of the product was also fairly
uniform during the course of polymerization. This was confirmed by fractionation of the finished polymer using three different
solvent - non-solvent systems.
