Description A simulation and optimisation package useful for design and optimal operation of semi-regener~- tive catalytic reformer unit has been developed~The simulationmodel is based on a detailed kinetic modelwith22 lumpsand 40 reactionsis developed. Thisis supportedbya comprehensivedeactivation kineticsmodule.Theeffectofmoistureand chlorine on reformerperformanceis also incorporated. The values of kineticparameters have been accessed fromliteratureand pilotplant studies and then fine tuned with industrial plant data. The model can predicttheeffectofvariousprocess variablesonthe performanceofreformerproducingbenzene, xylene , or gasoline at differentstages of a cycle. This can also estimatechargeand interheater duties, product properties and cycle length. The package can be used to optimiseboth off-lineand on-line,the exreactor yields, cycle length and various process parameters withindifferentconstraints of the plant likeheater and compressorduties, etc
