By multistage fractional crystallization, melting point distribution
of eight different hard microcrystalline waxes have been de.termined.
A wide variation in the melting point distribution. of these waxes has
been observed. The relative proportions and melting points of various
components present in them differ considerably and influence the
physical properties such as penetration temperature behaviour of the
waxes.
