Description This paper demonstrates the usefulness of non-linear Viscous Fluid Dampers (VFDs) with toggle bracing mechanism in controlling the vibration of 3-storey Steel Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF) model. An analytical study of one quarter model of 3-storey SMRF model with 2 VFDs fixed with toggle bracing mechanism placed at ground floor level was carried out by using SAP2000.
