Picrate, dinitrophenolate, ortbonitrophenolate and thiocyanate have been used as anions. General trend observed for extraction of cations is K+ > Li+ > Na+, Na+ is transported to a greater extent than K+, Carbon tetrachloride proved to be the poorest solvent in both extraction and transport studies.</span>
