Description The various kinetic models for solid-gas reactions reported in the literature for isothermal and non-isothermal kinetics has been critically analyzed. In this study, different kinetic models has been applied to pyrolysis and combustion of two biomass fuels-bagasse and groundnutshell. The kinetic parameters were derived by integral method, different method and model free (iso-conversional) methods. A least squares optimation techn-ique for deriving the kinetic parameters from both the differential and integral thermogravimetric data was deve-loped. The kinetic parameters derived from the various methods has been compared and critically discussed.
