Description Dimensions of silicon nanowires array such as length, width and gap have been analyzed for photon absorption using 2D FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) simulations in SilvacoTM for silicon nanowires solar cells. Fabrication methods for Al2O3 or thermal silicon-di-oxide (SiO2) passivated vertical silicon nanowires array solar cells have been proposed. Initial experiments for realizing vertical silicon nanowires array using MACEtch (Metal Assisted Chemical Etching) have been carried out, leading to fabrication of random silicon nanowires array of typical diameter of 100 nm and aspect ratio of 200.
