Description 92-93
Detection of glucose is carried out by glucose oxidase coated long period fiber grating (LPG) sensor. The coating of enzyme has been achieved through covalent bonding using APTES. Functionalilzed fiber surface poduced measurable shift in resonance wavelength of LPG upon reaction with glucose, which is correlated with changes in the solution refractive index.
