Description 795-803
Electrostatic precipitator (ESP) performance is a function of electrical resistivity of particles in flue gas. This study presents basic factors that influence fly ash resistivity and ultimately ESP performance. Factors that influence electrical resistivity are coal, sulfur, flue gas moisture, flue gas temperature, and ash chemistry etc. From maintenance perspective of ESP used in thermal power plants in India, analysis could be considered enough for predicting the performance of ESP.
