Description 242-247
An attempt has been made to formulate a new single parameter of compression (Compression Value) using the least squares method. Computation of the new measure is done by means of an analysis of the Kawabata pressure-thickness curve. A ā€˜Cā€™ program has been formulated for the purpose. The new single parameter is validated by correlating it with the percentage compression results to establish that it is a simple, reliable, sensitive and more consistent method for characterization of the compressional properties of weft-knitted fabrics. The compressional properties of weft-knitted fabrics have also been studied.
