This has lead sustainability become an integral part of any business strategic decision making process. The corporate today have shifted their focus from single bottom line i.e. Profit to the wider approach of “Triple Bottom Line” as it focuses on economic, social and environmental performance simultaneously. And so the question arises as to how the financial sector and especially the banks can play a major role in this global effort of sustainability? Due to their intermediary role in the economy banks hold a unique role and responsibility towards sustainability.
