Description |
The study presents the application of mathematical models to understand the dispersion phenomena of the water pollutants along the river stretches of Damodar river, which is being continuously discharged with industrial effluents. The flow analysis has been carried out from the secondary data as well as the primary data generated in rational and accurate value through computational techniques over the cross section of the river using appropriate mathematical approach, and further the flows of the river stretch have been predicted up to 2016 using the trend analysis. The maximum, average and minimum predicted flows of the river stretch using three-dimensional river quality dispersion model and computer simulation in order to visualize the assimilative capacity of the river stretch. The study would be very much useful for the decision makers and environmentalists to devise suitable environmental management plan to mitigate the prevailing environmental damage due to gradually growing industrial activities.
