Description The study of structural phase stability, morphological and magnetic properties of orthorhombic spinel (MgZn 2 O 4 ) synthesized through citrate-gel auto combustion method has been taken away. The samples were characterized by using XRD, SEM and energy dispersive X-ray (EDAX) and magnetic susceptibility. These spinel compounds have been synthesized for the first time to the best of our knowledge. XRD studies confirm the single phase orthorhombic spinel structure of the sample. The crystallite size was found to be of 64.76 nm by Debye Scherrer formula of MgZn 2 O 4 spinel compounds. The values of lattice parameters a , b and c have been calculated by powder-X software. The compositional formation was confirmed by EDAX. SEM micrograph shows spher- ical shape with nano-crystalline behaviour. The Magnetic susceptibility graph shows the superparamagnetic behaviour of the compound.
