A study of Belousov-Zhabotinskii system with 15 different substrates in phosphoric acid medium with ferroin/Mn(II) as catalysts is made. It is notice that ferroin gives rise to more varied oscillatory behaviour than Mn(II). In general, the ratio of onset periods, <em>t</em><sub>in</sub>[ferroin]/<em>t</em><sub>i</sub>[Mn(II)], for the system containing acetone as one of the mixed organic substrates is found to be ≈ 1.5 to 2.0. |
