A number of simple vanadium(IV) hytroxamates and mixed ligated complexes with 1,10-phenan-throline, and 2,2'-bipyridine (which act a secondary ligands) have been synthesized. All these compounds have been characterized by electronic, vibrational and EPR spectral studies. In the simple complexes hydroxamic acids act as bidentate ligands. However, in the mixed ligated complexes, of the two hydroxamate ligands, one acts as a bidentate and the other as a monodentate ligand. |
