A few triphenyltin complexes of arylidineanthranilic acids have been synthesised and characterized on the basis of IR and <sup>119</sup>Sn Mossbauer studies. The Mossbauer data of the complexes indicate that the carboxylato-group chelates the tin atom in a <em>cis</em>-trigonal-bipyramidal (<em>cis</em>-SnP<sub>3</sub>O<sub>2</sub>) geometry while the two triphenyltin complexes derived from <em>o</em>-(4-dimethylaminobenzalidine) and <em>o</em>-(2-nitrobenzaldine)-benzoic acid adopt meridian-al- trigonal-bipyramidal (mer-SnPh<sub>3</sub>ON) geometry at tin. |
