The diamagnetic susceptibility of hydrocarbons is found to be parallel to Kier's first order valence molecular connectivity index <sup>1</sup>X<sup>v</sup>. The regression analysis reveals a significant linear correlation between diamagnetic susceptibility x<sub>M</sub> and <sup>1</sup>X<sup>v</sup>. |
