Description 984-986
A few organotin complexes of the types R2SnL and RSnClL with some newly synthesized ligands, viz., succinyl bi-N-<em>p</em>-tolylhydroxamic acid (L), glutaryl bis-N-<em>p</em>-tolyhydroxamic acid (L) and adipyl bis<em>-</em>N<em>-p-</em>tolylhydroxamic acid (L") have been prepare and characterize on the basis of elemental analyses, IR and NMR (lH, 13C and 119Sn) spectral data. With glutaryl and adipylhydroxamic acids, the dimethyl tin derivative has been isolated possibly due to steric reasons. It is observed that except in the derivative (CY3Sn)2GPHA, the ligands are tetradentate in nature. The 119Sn NMR data suggest the hexa-coordinated nature of tin at R2SnL type of compounds.
