Synthesis of CoAPO-5 molecular sieve has been attempted using N,N-dimethylbenzylamine as template. Incorporation of cobalt into the AlP04-5 framework has been established using various physico- chemical characterization techniques such as MAS NMR, ESR, DRS, IR, etc. Cobalt incorporation in AlPO<sub>4</sub>-5 framework generates moderately strong acid sites as evidenced by the temperature programmed desorption profile of NH<sub>3</sub> over the sample.
