Description Biphasic calcium phosphate (BCPs) consist of a mixture of hydroxyapatite (HA) and β-tri-calcium phosphate (β-TCP).Biphasic calcium phosphate was synthesized by biomimetic method by using calcium nitrate tetra hydrate and di ammonium hydrogen phosphate salts. The prepared calcium deficient hydroxyapatite was then sintered at 900⁰c for 2hrs to obtain biphasic calcium phosphate. The ratio of HA and β-TCP obtained is 34.7% and 65.3% respe-ctively. The BCPs was characterized by XRD and SEM.The BCP is biodegradable, oeseconductive, oesteoinductive and bioactive. The material can be used for bone grafting.
