The ligand 2-benzoylpyridine thiosemicarbazone has been synthesised and characterised. Complexes of ligand with Ni(II), Co(II), Co(III), Fe(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) have also been synthesised and characterised. Magnetic moments, electronic spectra and infrared spectra have been examined. The ligand has been found to function as a monobasic tridentate (N,N,S) donor. Antibacterial activity of the ligand and the complexes has been studied against <em>E. coli.</em> |
