IMAGINE a creature that looks like acrocodile with a neck but which also hasgills like a fish! The stuff of nightmares,did you say? But it is just <i>Tiktaalik roseae</i> – a fish-like fossil that was introduced to theworld on April 2006 by a team of researchers led by NeilShubin, Edward Daeschler and Farish Jenkins, whouncovered this bizarre specimen. It has been hailed asbeing the species that blurs the boundary between fishand the four-legged tetrapods. |
