Description |
The use of progressive-wave-train wall motion to reduce turbulence in the boundary-layer flow over the wall is investigated by means of numerical simulations. The formulation of the governing equations is outlined; the numerical implementation of the model is briefly explained; and results are presented in graphs. It is shown that the wall motion parameters can be chosen to maximize interaction between the wall excitation modes and the natural mode of the fluid system; particular attention is given to the possibility of turbulence reduction under near-resonance conditions.
