| Description |
Two compressor stage I blades from an aeroengine were analyzed. Though some faint linear indications were observed on the airfoil surface of the blades on FPI, SEM examination revealed that these were due to externally deposited materials on the airfoil surface. SEM examination did not reveal any cracks in the blades.
