Description Polyarylated benzene derivatives are useful molecular entities in chemical and material sciences owing to their unique photophysical properties associated with them. In this letter, we report that 2-acetyl-benzofuran in the presence of Amberlyst 15 at reflux temperature furnished a mixture of dimer, trimer and tetramer with interesting conformational properties. The protocol was generalized to prepare diverse arylated benzene scaffolds in good yields under similar reaction conditions.
