Description Various substrates bound to polyethylene glycol (PEG) through succinyl ester linkages were cleaved under catalytic transfer hydrogenation conditions. The substrates with unsaturated functions also underwent hydrogenation. The protocol was found to be suitable for substrates having acid and base labile functional groups.
