Gladiolus is the most important floriculture crop in Himachal Pradesh. Gladiolus flowers
are in demand for their elegant attractive spikes of different hues and good keeping
quality. To become popular floriculture crop, the production of gladiolus should be
economically viable especially in long run. The paper aims to analyse the economic
viability of gladiolus production in Himachal Pradesh. Relevant data were collected
through personal interview from purpose random selected sample of 20 farmers. The
budgeting technique like Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Benefit Cost
Ratio were applied to assess the economic viability of gladiolus production. The results
show that production of gladiolus is economically viable in Himachal Pradesh.
