Description The natural frequencies of double walled carbon nanotube are calculated from the continuum model [1] using simple and powerful semi-analytical method. The use of Differential Transform Method [2] converts the continuum model into sets of iterative equations by simple transformation. The symbolic calculation of natural frequencies are done using MATLAB. Four different boundary conditions are used like clamped-clampled, clamped-free, simply supported and clamped-hinged. The present approach is compared with analytical frequencies available from literature. From the analysis, it is found that the present technique predicts very close results compared with analytical results.
