Description Some preliminary experiments were carried out in a small (0.1x0.25 metre) tunnel to study the feasibility of setting up a large low speed tunnel using an, induction type of drive. Initial experiments, aimed at determining some basic performance characteristics of the injector (as a drive) and distribution of Mach number in the empty test section, appear to be encouraging in the sense that sufficiently low Mach numbers are achievable, the flow in the test section is steady and the distribution of the Mach number is also quite good.
