Description Effect of different solvent extracts (hexane, ethyl acetate, acetone and methanol) of roots 01 Decalepis hamilton; were evaluated for fungicidal activity against grain borne lungi such as A. flavus, A. parasilicus, P. rubrum and F. moniliforme. Hexane was found to be more suitable in recovering the active principle responsible for fungicidal activity. Further, the supernatant fraction of hexane extract was found to possess antifungal components. A. flavus was more sensitive than other three fungal strains evaluated. The activity the extracts were almost comparable to that of fungicide carbendazim.
