Green tea is one of the most popular beverages consumed worldwide. It is
receiving more attention of the consumers due to its beneficial health effects.
Anti-carcinogenic, anti-obesity, anti-bacterial, anti-diabetic, anti-ulcer, antiinflammatory
properties are few among the notable health benefits. These health
benefits are due to the presence of the major catechins (EGCG, EGC, ECG, and
EC), with EGCG being the most studied one.
