Description Lipoxygenase from Bengal gram (Cicer arietinum) has been resolved into two active forms. One of them catalyzes the formation of conjugated diene hydroperoxide from linoleic acid while the other forms keto diene among other products. The aerobic formation of keto diene as one of the major products in a lipoxygenase reaction is unique. This suggests that the two forms of the enzyme present in Bengal gram are distinct.
